The H&G Family Christmas 'Do' 1998

Held on Friday 19th March 1999

This was part of the 'family' social side and involved the other clubs in the family. We had an excellent start to the evening at Mister Franco's Italian Restaurant in Southend where we got suitably "in the mood" for the later competition. A measure of this start can be taken from the fact

that the bill divided out to £13 a head and the food was a set price of a fiver - hmmm…

We then went on to a Casino and had a little friendly 'competition', each member had a £25 stake and the winner was the one with the most dosh left after 2 hours. The winner was Graham Moorcroft with over £40

The H&G  Family Summer Barbecue 2000

Marvo, man of mystery was 'mine host' to the Summer Barby for the 2nd year running. An excellent affair and all were invited including children. This year of course there was another club and it's members included.

We re-created the Pringles Eating Competition (Last Year's record set by the host, with 19 Pringles on one mouthful! remained un-matched - but the new holder of the girls competition was Andrea - with 14!

The weather was not quite as good as last year but we still had the game of baseball/rounders in the field to the rear of Tim's place - we didn't look any better this year either.

Anway thanks to Marvo and the Prof for their stalwart effortsd on the barbeque (we had 30lbs of Chicken on hand - and that was just the chicken then there was...ribs...sausages..burgers...etc).

A special thank you to the long suffering Debbie (Mrs Marvo) - who put in a lot of effort to make sure it was succesful... well done and thanks!
